Headshrinkers LLC

I need to confess: I am not a real estate person. Never had the chance to deal with the nitty-gritty of that world, especially in the West. But like most people, I do know the major jargon that goes.

Like eviction, tenant, vacancy, property and other commonly used words.

But with Headshrinkers LLC, things get interesting- because it is not about real estate … at all!

Page 1: The First Impression

The title is funny. Who used this term these days, you’d think?

And that is the point of it, I think. To catch your attention. The ‘LLC’ part makes it formal. It’s not a person- its a group that has a fancy name for itself.

The title also kept a lot open to imagination- what exactly are shrinks doing in an LLC? Was it just something gory or truly dark? The pup with the eviction notice adds to the mystery and without opening the book you can’t know for sure what you will find.

The first chapter tells you what to expect: Notice to Tenants. And I was glad there was such a guide.

The Midpoint Check

The middle chapters were where the things got serious. There were a few chapters that spoke to my personal thought patterns so accurately I was stunned.

And this kept me going. I wanted to know more.

The best part of every chapter was that nothing was assumed or based on old ideas about how thoughts are generated. Every chapter uses a real-world example and builds from there.

The Moment I Knew

I formed an opinion about this book in the first few chapters- I like the way real estate language was mingled with mind sciences. It makes sense to view the mind as a virtual real estate.

I also liked how the author kept everything to the point- like how you’d expect to see in contracts. The chapters are short- the ideas concrete without the fluff and repetition of ideas.

I think I will revisit this one- if at any point some uninvited tenant decided to occupy the property I have so dearly built 🙂

What Stuck With Me

The idea that our mind needs to actively examine our own thoughts stood out to me. Years of patterns make it easy for learned thoughts to flow freely. They do it out of habit- often unnoticed by us.

Often these thoughts are triggered by nonsensical stuff. This book encourages the reader to look at these intruders from a third-person viewpoint, to see why they have been allowed in the first place, to demand ‘rent’, to see if the tenancy is valid or not.

This book is a perfect read for those who are tired of overthinking small decisions and feel hampered by them in daily life.
